Surrey Catering Hire is the perfect company to supply equipment for your event whether it’s a dinner party for 15, a drinks gathering for 80 or a wedding for 180. We are based just south of Guildford and supply Surrey and all surrounding counties.

Surrey Catering Hire is experienced in hiring equipment and working alongside private customers, caterers, marquee companies and hotels, providing anything from bars, china, cutlery and glassware to furniture, linen and kitchen equipment.

Surrey Catering Hire was launched by Philip Lock who has a wealth of experience in the catering industry.

Having trained in Germany and Switzerland, he went on to work with the National Trust (NT) and as Managing Director, established and ran the busiest wedding and function NT stately home in the UK. He has organised and overseen thousands of events covering every type of budget, from banquets attended by members of the Royal family, company dinners for 800, to all types of different weddings from large marquees, holding 250 to small intimate occasions for 15.

Varied events include BBQ’s for Olympic team members in 2012, celebrity fundraising charity events and catering for film and TV crews.

How do I book?

After receiving a detailed quote, if you would like to go ahead and book, you will be required to pay a deposit of 30% of the total amount. Once the deposit is received, the booking is confirmed via email. The balance is required to be paid, in full, two weeks before the event. If the booking is within 1 month of the event full payment is required. We take all major credit cards, BACS and cash. 

Can I look at the hire equipment?

Of course, you are welcome to arrange a convenient time to visit us at our base just south of Guildford.

What happens if I break something ?

Breakages can happen, so there is a £75 breakages and missing items deposit payable when the final balance is paid. This amount is refunded after the event, minus any items that have not been returned or broken. 

How long is the hire period ?

The hire period is for 48 hours or Friday - Monday.  Weekly hires will be charged at double the normal hire rate. Subsequent weeks rental charge will be negotiated on an individual basis.

What happens if I have to cancel my booking ?

Cancellations that take place1month or more from the event will be refunded less 20%. Within 14 days 50% will be refunded. Any cancellation less than 7 days will be charged at full price.

Do you deliver ?

Delivery and collection can be arranged and the hire team can provide a quote for this service. Deliveries are made to a ground level hard standing entrance, unless by prior arrangement.

The equipment can be delivered at a prearranged convenient time. We normally drop off the items the day before an event and pick up the day after. For weekend events the drop off is usually Friday with the pick up on Monday. 

Which areas do you cover ?

We cover all of the main towns of Surrey - Guildford, Woking, Farnham, Dorking, Reigate, Camberley, Epsom, Leatherhead, Weybridge, Ewell, Ashford and Haslemere. We also cover the surrounding counties - Sussex, Kent, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and the London area.

When can I collect my hire equipment?

Items can be collected and dropped off at a convenient time. Please contact the office to discuss arrangements.

Who is responsible for the equipment whilst on hire?

As the hirer you are responsible for all the equipment hired from Surrey Catering Hire once it has been delivered and throughout the time it is your possession. We strongly advise you to have adequate insurance to cover the equipment. 

Washing up

We offer a washing-up service. If you would like to return the goods dirty, please scrape off any excess food and return the equipment unwashed. There is no need to re-wrap the items in cling film. The wash charge is 25% of the hired washable items.

Do you offer any discounts?

In low season Jan, Feb, Oct & Nov we offer 10% discount and free delivery on orders over £750.

Registered charities will be entitled to a 10% discount
